Hanging photos without drilling? 7 inspiring alternatives!
You want to turn your house into a delightful home and surround yourself with everything that gives you that warm feeling. We understand that very well. It's nice when you can hang your photos without drilling. That saves you a job, and you can change your interior at any time without staring at holes. Ideal, isn't it? Therefore, we give you 7 tips on how to hang your wall decorations without drilling.
1. Self-adhesive strips
Nowadays, there are numerous options for hanging photos on the wall. How about double-sided tape or self-adhesive strips, for instance? With these, you can easily create a photo collage on your wall without drilling. Pay attention to the weight of the items you hang on the wall, though. Adhesive strips can't bear much weight and are best suited for individual photos and clippings.
2. Self-adhesive nails
Not adept with a drill or just not interested in damaging your wall? Opt for self-adhesive nails. These nails resemble regular ones, but making a hole in the wall is not necessary with these. Stick the nail to the wall, hang your favorite wall decoration, and you're done! Again, be mindful of the weight of the item you're hanging. Self-adhesive nails are most suitable for small photo frames.
3. Magnetic paint
A fun and original way to hang photos without drilling is by using magnetic paint. Magnetic paint turns any surface—whether it's a wall, door, or cabinet—into a space where you can attach magnets. This is due to the addition of iron particles to this special paint. Unfortunately, the color choices for magnetic paint are somewhat limited, as it always appears gray due to the fine iron particles (metal powder). Want a different color? Paint over the magnetic paint with your preferred shade.
4. Washi tape
Want to create a playful effect? Then washi tape is a good option. Stick your photos haphazardly on the wall or create "frames" with washi tape. Feeling creative? Try placing a quote on your wall with washi tape that inspires you daily. Or outline a house on the wall in the children's room and hang cute photos in it. Washi tape allows for a lot of creativity, is easy to use, and can be removed in a snap when you get tired of your design.
5. Pegboard
A pegboard is a highly versatile wall element. You can hang it (yes, you'll need a drill for this) or place it on a shelf or dresser. Then, you can set up this board in various ways. Turn it into a practical board to have all your essential items at hand (like keys or your most beautiful necklaces) or pin your favorite polaroids or tickets from unforgettable trips. Ideal for letting your mind wander.
6. Cork Wall or Bulletin Board
Did you know that there are cork walls that can cover your entire wall? This way, you have an instant eye-catcher in your interior that you can arrange according to your wishes and change at any time. Turn it into a place for the kids' artworks or hang to-do lists or beautiful prints on it. It's your party 😉
7. Displaying Photos
Of course, you're not limited to your walls when you want to give your photos a nice spot. You can also place them, on a cabinet, on the floor, or on a shelf, for example. Play with different sizes of frames and compositions for a striking result. For instance, try placing a few black, narrow frames of different sizes next to each other on the floor or let them playfully overlap, and place a mirror between them for more depth. This way, you can creatively set up your warm, atmospheric place.
